and concurrent or completed one semester of Biochemistry, or with the consent of the instructor. An introduction to immunology and virology. This course is an introduction to basic concepts in immunology and virology. Topics covered include innate and adaptive immunity, the molecular structure antibodies, mechanisms leading to the generation of antibodies, cell-mediated immunity and vaccines. For the virology part of the course, topics covered will include virus classification and structure, viral replication and modes of infection.
