. This writing-intensive course will consider journalism as literature. We will study important literary journalists from the 18th to the 21st centuries, including Daniel Defoe, Mark Twain, Stephen Crane, Jack London, James Weldon Johnson, Lillian Ross, Truman Capote, Tom Wolfe, George Orwell Jimmy Breslin, John McPhee, James Agee, John Simon, Dave Eggers, Yoskiko Sakurai, Colson Whitehead, Mugabo Rwiliriza and Kouross Esmaeli.
