This course examines the history, causes, and operational characteristics of terrorist groups around the world. Students are exposed to a wide range of topics, ranging from the definition of terrorism to the unique characteristics of terrorist cells in the United States and abroad. Historical and contemporary terrorist attacks are explored within their context. The course further focuses on terrorist group goals, methodologies, and target acquisition techniques.
