, or permission of the instructor. This course will address a major health issue in the U.S. (e.g., tobacco, obesity, HIV/AIDS) from a public health and public policy perspective. Students will consider policy assessment, policy analysis, and policy advocacy as tools for examining and addressing the issue. Students will engage in experiential learning activities such as assessing or analyzing health policies, planning or conducting a policy advocacy campaign, or implementing or evaluating a recently adopted health policy.
