This course focuses on epidemiological principles and methods such as describing the patterns of illness in populations and research designs for investigating disease. Quantitative measures to determine risk and association are introduced. Within this context, concepts, basic principles, and tools of epidemiology and biostatistics are studied with an emphasis on application to health education programs. (Two lecture and two laboratory hours per week).
