This course will discuss the legal underpinnings for healthcare settings and regulatory healthcare information. Examines legal responsibilities and liabilities as they relate to consumers and providers of health services. Areas covered include current legislation and the impact on the healthcare industry such as Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Affordable Care Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA).
