The course provides students with competencies in specific technical skills of teaching by focusing on learning theory, learning styles, educational taxonomies, teaching methods, classroom management, and lesson planning. Students have the opportunity to apply their learning during their field experience in an assigned classroom. The students tutor individual learners, plan lessons with the teacher, and facilitate small or whole group instruction. Twenty hours of field experience are required.
