(or PHYS 2320 ), with grades of C or better. Corequisites: CHEM 4900 . An introduction to fundamental principles of physical chemistry, covering such topics as gases, chemical thermodynamics, thermochemistry, physical and chemical equilibria, solutions, chemical kinetics, electrochemistry, and theory of quantum mechanics and its application to chemistry. (Three lectures and one recitation hour per week)
