Catalog description
A course focusing on the role of cells and genes in the development of cancer in humans. Course coverage will include examination of the role of specific genes such as tumor suppressor genes and oncogenes in the development of cancer, treatments employed against cancer in the context of their specific cellular and molecular targets, and current topics in cancer such as the genetic diagnosis of cancer susceptibility through family and population studies. (Three lecture hours per week)
