. This course is designed for students majoring in Biology and other life sciences majors. It is the second semester of a two semester course. BIOL 2220 consists of an in-depth study of the molecules of cells, structure of cells, and various processes cells carry out, with a focus on cell biology and the relationship of cell biology to human diseases. The purpose of the course is to convey basic knowledge about molecular processes carried out in cells, in particular eukaryotic cells. The study of cell biology will be needed as background for upper-division Biology courses. Three lecture hours per week.
