Pre- or Co-requisite: ARTV 3800 . In the world of Big Data, knowledge of data visualization methodology, tools and technologies are essential for designers and clients in identifying trends, outliers, and patterns in data; students will learn how to use visuals to analyze information by developing graphical representations of data. When massive amounts of information are converted to visual representations, the final form may take the direction of an array of variations of visual elements in the chart, geospatial, and table families of visualizations, which enables data-driven decisions to be made.
