Typography II: Publication Design

Pre- or Co-requisite: ARTV 2830 . A coninuation of Typography I - Type as Image, this course explores the theoretical and applied use of type as visual form and visible language by learning the distinctions of type of families, texture, hierachy, and the introduction to grid constructions for use in the design brochures, newspapers, magazines, books, and Web-based interfaces for digital devices. This course will also build on students’ knowledge and skills with software applications used for page layout and development. Six audio hours per week.
