Research Methods in Health Communication Studies

3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) Students will survey major theoretical approaches and research methods in health communication studies. Methods include both qualitative and quantitative approaches, which include but not limited to surveys, content analysis, focus groups, narrative analysis, rhetorical and critical/ cultural methodologies, as well as other approaches used in communication research. Students will learn about differences between various research methods, and acquire familiarity with appropriate concepts, methods, and tools for producing communication research.
