3 Lecture Hour(s) Rooted in the communication discipline, this introductory level course examines how communication influences the ways that medical environments are understood and experienced; how biomedical information is communicated and contested by various constituents across different media; how communication is used to promote public health; and how media and popular culture shape understandings of health and disease.
