Sociology of Religion

3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) This course is designed to primarily explore the practices, social structures, historical backgrounds, development, universal themes, and roles of religion in society. Course content include the exploration of views of religion from classical sociologists (Marx, Weber, and Durkheim) as well as contemporary sociologists of religion. Various types of religious groups such as ecclesias, denominations, and cults/sects are also discussed.
