3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) This course will examine the psychobiological, computational, and neuroscientific bases for cognition and higher mental functions. Topics will include vision, object recognition, attention, memory, spatial functions, language, and decision making. Major themes will include mind/brain relationships, localization of functions, and plasticity of the brain. In addition, material will include neuroimaging studies of people with focal brain damage, as well as neurologically normal people. Cognitive neuroscience approaches to disorders such as autism, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer’s disease will also be explored.
