Contemporary Problems in American Government

Catalog description

This course will observe, compare, and critique prominent contemporary issues in the American political system. This course introduces several issues currently plaguing the American government and encourages an open dialogue with students to explore the origins, complexities, and issues. associated with these problems. Topics covered include but are not limited to American political culture, the founding and the U.S. Constitution, immigration, federalism, the judiciary, public opinion, elections and voting, political parties, interest groups, and more.
