3 Lecture Hour(s) 2 Lab Hour(s) Emphasis is placed on development or writing skills and the ability to understand and develop proofs and logical arguments. Topics include quantifiers, rules of logic, and methods of mathematical proof, with applications to sets, integers, real numbers, functions, relations, and combinatorics. In the weekly 2-hour active learning lab, exercises and proofs are given to groups of two to four. The student’s present solutions and the solutions are critiqued by the students and the instructor.
