3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) This course will provide students with the skills to critically analyze the way Africa has been portrayed historically in the West, in fiction, the academy, books, magazines, film, television and other popular media. The development of critical thinking skills in written and oral communication is at the core of this course which asks students to rethink common assumptions, perceptions and stereotypes.
