The course provides students with a foundational understanding of the core principles, concepts, and practices underpinning the public health field. It explores the multifaceted nature of public health and its critical role in promoting and protecting the health and well-being of communities and populations. Through a blend of lectures, case studies, discussions, and practical exercises, students will gain insight into the key determinants of health, public health approaches to disease prevention, health promotion, and the social, cultural, and ethical dimensions of public health practice.
