3 Lecture Hour(s) This course examines the history and culture of people of African ancestry in Latin America. The approach is diasporic in nature, although the national experiences of Brazil and Cuba will receive special attention. Main historical themes include slavery, race relations, and racial thought. Main cultural themes include art, music, and religion. No Prerequisites.
