3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) This is a survey course focusing on literature written by African-Americans from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. Students will study exciting literary periods, such as the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Arts Movement, as well as modern and contemporary Black writers. Important movements, authors, and works will be examined in both a literary and historical sense.
