3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) This course is designed to develop and enhance the skills of individual student performers of the A&T Premier Spoken Word Troupe. Students will be instructed in the history and practice of the genre Spoken Word Performance Poetry through the study of the art form’s development since the late sixties and seventies through to the current period. Influences on the art form such as Blues, Jazz, and Hip-hop will be covered. (This course can be taken more than once.) Student enrollment in this course is based on individual audition and/or by permission of the instructor.
