2 Lecture Hour(s) 2 Lab Hour(s) This study abroad course includes a three week study of traditional folk dances in a selected African or Caribbean country. The focus is on traditional dances, cultural norms, history of the country and the dances, rituals and ceremonies of the people. Students will interact with the local population in structured and non-structured classes. Students will spend time in villages and provinces accompanied by a local guide. The material gathered during the study abroad experience will form the basis for the Senior Project. Pre-and post-departure preparation will occur during the first two week, and the final week of the summer session.
