Catalog description
3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) This is a study of the hydrologic cycle and its processes, emphasizing the application of surface and subsurface hydrology in water systems. Topics include hydrology, hydrological processes, water sustainability challenges, precipitation, infiltration, evaporation, transpiration, evapotranspiration, groundwater flow, rainfall-runoff relationships (unit hydrograph, CN method, and Rational method), flood routing techniques, and hydrologic measurements. Excel-based data analyses are introduced including descriptive statistics, box plots, time-series plots, web-based data download, flow duration curves, flood frequency analyses, and DDF and IDF charts.
