1 Lecture Hour(s) 4 Lab Hour(s) This capstone design course emphasizes the design of a complete chemical process including a literature survey, mass and energy balances, flow diagrams, equipment selection and design, and cost and economic analysis. Students develop and use computer-aided simulation to model process equipment design. Projects include extensive use of the ASPEN PLUS simulation package. Oral and written presentations of the design projects are required.
