3 Lecture Hour(s) 0 Lab Hour(s) This course will introduce the students to probability theory and statistics. Reliability theory and Decision analyses are introduced. The course will incorporate simplified examples of applications of decision analysis, modeling of system response, and system reliability in the different areas of the civil and architectural engineering. The use of common statistical tools in the selection of design parameters will be presented. Students will be introduced to concepts of sampling distributions and confidence intervals. Prerequisite: MATH 132.
