Catalog description

This course covers fundamental concepts of the finite element method, for linear deformation and stress analysis of mechanical components. Topics include the development of truss, beam, frame, plane stress, plane strain, axisymmetric, isoparametric, solid, thermal and fluid elements. ANSYS and I-DEAS software will be used for solving practical stress analysis problems.
