Catalog description

This course focuses on developing foundational SMAW skills using E6010 and E7018 electrodes on mild steel in the flat and horizontal positions. Students will practice fillet and groove welds on carbon steel plates while learning about joint design, electrode classification, and basic weld inspection methods. This course emphasizes arc control, rod angle, and weld bead consistency. lecture 3 hours and Laboratory 3 hours per week.
