Intro to Surg Tech

Catalog description

This course introduces the student to the profession of surgical technology, the surgical team members, roles and responsibilities of the surgical technologists, personal and professional relations, the history of surgery, organization and management of various types of health care facilities, interdepartmental relationships, communication techniques, and legal, ethical, and moral aspects of practice. Prerequisite: Admission to program or permission of instructor. Corequisites: SUR 1112 Patient Care Concepts. Lecture 1 hour per week.
