Catalog description

A cross-cultural, interdisciplinary analysis of identity and culture and the global systems that shape and construct social inequalities. Includes critical examination of the intersectional effects of sex, gender, gender identity, race/ethnicity, age, class, ability, social roles, and cultural symbolism in politics, economics, family, health, socialization, religion, and language and overviews the sociological theory and research on how these effects organize systems of inequality. Lecture 3 hours per week.
