Catalog description
This course introduces students to the foundational principles, tools, equipment, materials, and safety practices used in the automotive collision repair industry. Instruction includes shop safety and hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), hand and power tool identification and use, vehicle construction fundamentals, fastener systems, corrosion protection, and basic metal and plastic repair techniques. Students develop skills in damage identification, repair planning fundamentals, and proper shop workflow procedures. Lecture 3 hours per week.
