Catalog description

This course focuses on the operation of compact and mid-size machinery used in construction, landscaping, and site preparation. Students gain hands on experience with skid steers, mini excavators, backhoes, and compact loaders, applying safe operating procedures and maintenance practices. Training includes trenching, material handling, and grading projects using compact machinery. Emphasis is placed on control coordination, pre-operation inspection, and situational awareness on active jobsites. Lecture 3 hours and Laboratory 9 hours per week.
