Catalog description

Students are introduced to the basic operating principles and mechanical systems of heavy construction equipment. Instruction covers start up and shutdown procedures, control functions, braking and clutch systems, hydraulic and power controls, and the use of operator's manuals. Students also practice basic maneuvering, inspection, and maintenance skills with a strong emphasis on operational safety. Lecture 2 hours per week.
