POS 100 is a first-year introductory course, requirement for all students. Students who take the course and complete all the requirements will have an appreciation of the role of civic engagement in the political process. The course deals essentially with the basic aspects of the American political system including its development, institutions, processes and actors. It emphasizes your role in the political process and steps you can take to influence the course of governmental actions. There is no pre-requisite or co-requisite for this course.
