Catalog description
This course examines the impact of culture on the counseling process to increase effectiveness in working with individuals from other cultures and subcultures. Through exploration of applicable theories and research, candidates learn how to navigate the different belief systems, unique cultural characteristics, and concerns of diverse populations and subpopulations to become culturally competent, allowing optimal treatment without infringing on their individual beliefs or principles.
