Catalog description

Beginning karate will develop the basic skills needed for the art of unarmed self-defense. This includes the use of blocking, punching, and kicking. Karate will also develop speed, grace of movement, self-confidence, poise, mental alertness, strength, endurance, and muscular control. Karate is a physical art and a sport that anyone, irrespective of size, age, or sex, can practice according to his or her own capabilities. 54.00 hours laboratory. (Letter grade or Pass/No Pass option)
