Advanced Stairs

Catalog description

Enhances existing skills in the construction of basic stairs. Students will interpret floor plans and drawing elevations for job planning, and to layout and construct complex stair designs. Stair calculations will be adapted to determine the number of stairs, landing height, stair thread and riser dimensions. In addition to measuring skills, mathematical principles, stair and handrail fabrication and assembly, the installation techniques required for circular and u-shaped stair configurations will be covered. 27.00 hours lecture and 18.00 hours laboratory. (Letter grade or Pass/No Pass option)
