Catalog description
This course will provide the learner with the competencies, knowledge, and skills to assess, diagnose, manage, and treat common and uncomplicated acute and chronic health conditions across the lifespan in primary care settings. Emphasis is placed on the evidence-based, effective, and safe management of patients via health promotion, disease prevention, assessment, diagnosis, pharmacological, and non-pharmacological interventions and approaches. Practice guidelines, conceptual models, and theories will be applied to enhance the care plan and evaluate patient outcomes. Knowledge and competencies learned in this course will be validated in the clinical practicum courses.
