Catalog description

In this course, students simultaneously engage in a pre- approved service project outside of class time and attend a weekly seminar. This combination of academic learning and service, or service- learning, helps NYIT students to connect Urban Administration concepts with real- life experiences while preparing them for active civic participation and careers in urban affairs. This course requires a minimum of 15 hours of service in the community as per academic credit. Experiential education professionals in Career Services will assist in the development of off- site placements, in matching students with the appropriate service projects, with orientations, evaluations and reflections.
