Catalog description

Transition to Residency (TTR) is a four-week capstone experience, designed to assist in the preparation of graduating students for the patient care demands and team-based challenges they will face in internship. TTR provides multiple learning modalities, including experiential learning activities, small group study, and expert panel discussions covering a broad range of categories related to the development of professional identity and long-term success strategies for the practice of medicine. Overarching themes include: early focus on the pathophysiology of the students' chosen specialty tracts, teamwork and peer feedback practice, patient safety communication basics via TEAM STEPPS, clinical reasoning, and communication challenges through standardized patient encounters.
