Catalog description

Probe your inner funny as you learn the craft of comedy writing in this introductory class. Analyze and practice various comic styles and genres with an emphasis on short form including sitcom, sketch and stand-up. Assignments and in-class exercises will generate material for live presentations and establish a regular writing schedule. Examples of current and historical comedy will be screened and discussed in class . Classroom Hours- Laboratory and/ or Studio Hours- Course Credits: 3-0-3 Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisites: FCWR 101, FCWR 151 and TEVE 340 Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 3-0-3
