Adolescent Psychology

Catalog description

An introduction to the study of that portion of human development called adolescence. Some of the topics treated: significance of puberty, biological and social sex roles, adolescent image, the emergence of new figures such as practices and their replacement with new behavioral peers and idols, society at large as agents of socialization in place of parents and family, the extinction of old habits and practices and their replacement with new behavioral patterns. Theoretical consideration will be supplemented with observational experience. Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisite: PSYC 101 Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 3-0-3
