Catalog description

This course prepares physician assistant (PA) students to provide comprehensive, evidence-based primary care across the lifespan, with a focus on the PA’s role in outpatient and longitudinal care. Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, patient-centered communication, referral to other healthcare providers, and accurate documentation for coding and billing. The course prepares students to manage common conditions in pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations while integrating public health principles, healthcare delivery systems, and approaches to patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement. Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisites: PHAS 613.
