In the Lifestyle Health and Behavior Change course students will learn and apply advanced and emerging theory, research and evidence-based practice strategies that promote healthy lifestyle change, well-being and quality of life for clients and their families. Key components of this course focus on understanding holistic well-being within a variety of contexts including; emotional, social, psychological, physical, economic, personal, life satisfaction, workplace and environmental health. Students will navigate the person-centered evaluation and planning process in a manner that empowers clients to set meaningful, realistic lifestyle goals leading to achievable healthy outcomes. Students develop evidenced-based lifestyle change curriculum and tools and may apply their work towards advanced training opportunities leading to certification in evidence-based nationally and international recognized lifestyle change programs that are in alignment with their chosen doctoral projects.
