Catalog description
This didactic course provides students with an overview of pharmacology with an emphasis on clinical applications that are pivotal to safe and effective medication therapy for clients with potential or actual health problems. Both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment modalities will be discussed. Content includes indications, modes of action, effects, contraindications and interactions for selected medications. Specific nursing responsibilities related to medication administration for individuals across the lifespan are emphasized. Prerequisite Course(s): Course is limited to Nursing students Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 3-0-3
