Clinical Clerkship: Pediatrics

Catalog description

This 4-week clerkship allows students to gain clinical experience in evaluating both sick and well pediatric patients. The experience includes but is not limited to history taking, physical examinations and laboratory data. This clerkship utilizes both inpatient and outpatient settings including but not limited to: inpatient services, newborn nursery, emergency department and ambulatory clinic. Special emphasis is placed on: growth and development; nutrition, fluid and electrolyte balance, common infections and preventative medicine.
