Catalog description

In this course, students may design an original student-directed research project under faculty supervision or join a faculty research project within the OMM department. They will advance in competency in evaluation of study design and methods, as well as critical evaluation of relevant peer-reviewed medical literature. Students will utilize knowledge of OMM to participate in a student-designed or faculty-led research project within the OMM Department, participating in OMM-related research on a weekly basis. They will also organize and critically evaluate results to write up an original research project for publication under faculty guidance. They will also produce scholarly work which may include case presentations, case or research posters, an original article for publication, and/or abstract submissions. This is a longitudinal course taking place during the first year of the OMM Concentration Program throughout the entire first half of the student's clinical academic year.
