Catalog description

Starting with basic thermodynamic principles, the analysis and design of various thermal energy systems will be considered. These systems include steam power plants, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and refrigeration systems. Exergy analyses will be applied to such systems. Design projects will explore the systems in further detail, including the detailed design and performance characteristics of components and subsystems. Prerequisite Course(s): Prerequisites: MENG 340, MENG 349 Classroom Hours - Laboratory and/or Studio Hours – Course Credits: 3-1-4
