Catalog description

This is a class aimed at helping you to recognize the difference between the two; or, to be more precise the difference between effective and ineffective writing. Here we'll help you improve the writing skills you need to succeed in journalism- print, broadcast, digital and multi-platform - or, for that matter, any other aspect of this industry. You'll learn about journalism and the journalistic writing process; about some of the techniques that can make you a better reporter and writer. You'll discover the secrets of writing with clarity and vitality. You'll learn how writers develop ideas, and execute them under deadline pressure; and you'll practice the all- important are of "selling" your writing to editors and clients.
